Samskrita Bharati organized a series of events in 2013, called Vivekananda Abhiyānam (VA150), to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902). “Abhiyānam” in Samskritam denotes a purposeful movement toward a goal. This initiative consisted of 150 Samskrita-related activities, including workshops, new advanced-level classes, teachers’ training courses, family retreats, youth camps, competitions for children, and other programs across the United States and major cities of Canada throughout that year. As part of these celebrations, Samskrita Bharati, USA, also organized Bhāṣaṇamālā, a series of public lectures. The speakers and their lecture dates were:
