Samskrita Bharati uses a well-established, multi-level system to guide students and accurately assess their knowledge.
The Learning Process
Our system ensures success by following three clear steps:
- Syllabus: We define a clear learning path for each level.
- Study Material: We provide materials that directly follow the syllabus.
- Exams: We conduct exams to assess proficiency based on the material and syllabus.
Systematic Levels of Study
Students progress systematically through five established levels. We’ve included an introductory level to ensure a strong foundation in script and pronunciation:

| Pallavam (Pre-Pravesha) | Foundational introduction to script and pronunciation. |
| Pravesha | First core level. |
| Parichaya | Second core level. |
| Shiksha | Third core level. |
| Kovida | Final, advanced level. |
These levels must be pursued in succession.
Support for Each Level
For every level of study, Samskrita Bharati USA provides:
- Guided Self-Study: A program designed to help students understand the material and practice for proficiency.
- Note: This program is currently optional but will become mandatory to ensure student success.
- For Children (18 and under): Balapathashala
- For Adults (over 18): Praudhapathashala
- Proficiency Exam: A formal test to certify the student’s mastery of the level.
