Program Structure

The SAFL program is divided into three distinct levels:

  • SAMS100 (Beginner): No prior knowledge of Samskritam is required.
  • SAMS200 (Intermediate)
  • SAMS300 (Advanced)

Each academic year consists of two semesters and a week long accelerated program during the summer. Students typically need to successfully complete preceding courses to advance to the next semester or year.

Accreditation & Benefits

The SAFL program offers significant benefits, including accreditation:

  • Accredited Program: Since July 2016, SAFL has been accredited as a supplementary education program by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC). SAFL WASC accreditation code is  43 41553 999. The accreditation status can be viewed athttps://directory.acswasc.org/new/ using Samskrita Bharati for school name.
  • NCAA Approved: SAFL courses have been approved and listed in the NCAA high school course catalog  (enter Samskrita Bharati in the High School Name box and click Search button) since November 2018. This is a valuable asset for students aspiring to collegiate sports.
  • Quality Matters certified: SAFL courses have been certified by Quality Matters (an educational standards agency) and our courses can be accessed here – https://www.qualitymatters.org/reviews-certifications/qm-certified-courses/nojs/1/rev_count/0/samskrita-bharati/1
  • School Credits: With permission from their respective schools, students may be able to obtain school credits for completing this course. This can fulfill foreign language requirements and ensure SAFL credits are reflected on high school transcripts.
